Lisa Hager is Assistant Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin–Waukesha. Her current book project, a revised version of her dissertation, looks at the relationship between the New Woman and the Victorian family, particularly how the family structurally depends on the New Woman in the Victorian novel. Lisa’s other research interests include steampunk as a literary genre and cultural phenomena. She is a regular book reviewer for English Literature in Transition 1880-1920, and has published articles in Nineteenth-Century Gender Studies, Women’s Writing, and Children’s Literature Association Quarterly.
