Celia Rasmussen is a Ph.D. candidate at Indiana University. Her dissertation, “Recreational Subjects: Authorship, Familiar Conversation, and the ‘Interested’ Reader,” examines eighteenth-century authors’ turning to minor genres in order to imagine conversational, recreational encounters between readers and writers, encounters not wholly created in or reliant upon the conditions of the literary marketplace.
