Matthew Warshawsky (PhD, Ohio State University) is Associate Professor of Spanish at the University of Portland. His research focuses on Iberian Jews in a trans-Atlantic context, particularly with regard to converted Jews prosecuted by the colonial Inquisition. His articles have appeared in Colonial Latin American Review, Calíope, Journal of Jewish Identities, Journal for the Study of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jewry, Pacific Coast Philology, Shofar, and Journal of Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian Crypto Jews. With James A. Parr, he co-edited Don Quixote: Interdisciplinary Connections (Juan de la Cuesta-Hispanic Monographs, 2013).
